COROAT - 'She In He'
COROAT is a non-profit organization, registered under Indian Trust Act 1882 by Mrs. M. Padmavathi with her likeminded friends. COROAT has approval under Income Tax Exemptions u/s 80G and Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA). The vision of COROAT is “Building a gender just, non-discriminatory, democratic, and humane society for women and children, and disadvantaged people of the society and ensure equal access to resources and sustainable livelihood for them.” Improving the lives of the marginalised community is the major focus of COROAT. "She in He" is an initiative of COROAT, supported by LemonAid ChariTea Foundation, Germany.
About 'She in He'
“She in He” is a livelihood promotion project for transperson. We provide training to improve the psychological wellbeing and entrepreneurship opportunities, sensitisation programs among key stakeholders, support transpersons to access government schemes and become entrepreneurs. Efforts are also made to link them with appropriate business entities to market the products made by transpersons, creating employment opportunities for the educated transgender community.

Income Generation Activities of Transperson
Transperson are engaged in various economic activities for their dignified living such as tailoring, animal husbandry, bridal makeup, driving, phenyl making, dancing etc.

Role Models
‘She in He” members are becoming entrepreneurs and set role models among third gender community. Ms. Sanjana, is one of the transpersons opened Trans-Queen Bridal Studio in Nagapattinam district, with the support of District collector, District Industries Centre and Indian Overseas Bank. There are several other transwomen who have broken the stereo typic roles and myths about transperson.

What we do in 'She in He'
LemonAid ChariTea Foundation, Germany support COROAT to improve the lives of 300 transperson from 8 districts of Tamil Nadu, through series of interventions to improve the psychological wellbeing, entrepreneurship development, convergence with government and private institutions to improve the skills of transperson and support livelihood initiatives individually and collectively.
Geographical focus of "She in He"
“She in He” project is implemented in 8 districts of Tamil Nadu. Since June 2022, COROAT has impacted the lives of 204 transperson from Tiruchirapalli, Nagapattinam, Pudukottai, Namakkal and Ariyalur districts. Considering the support received from the transperson and the district officials from the district, COROAT has reached out to different districts. Thanks to district level Transperson leaders and officials for their whole hearted support to COROAT.
